SUNSET

sunset

in the west

bowing gracefully away

relinquishing its hold on day

heralding the moon to take its place

and the stars to light the sky

Sunset in my heart

and yet hope is not lost.

As I await the moon to light the sky

mirroring a path only I can see

to see me through this raging sea

that aches my soul and weakens my spirit

Casting its invigorating rays on me

refreshing my soul

and strengthening my spirit

laying all my fears to rest

and anointing me to face the day.
